"You're out of whack"

Hello fellow Hokies!!

I cannot believe my phone call from last night has gotten so much play in the media today (the replay definitely sounded like I had just come straight from the tailgate, but let me assure you that was not the case...last night). But, I'm glad it has! I know many of you share the same love and passion for Virginia Tech football as I do and want only the best for VT!! I know many of you also share the same opinion. 7 years of offensive ineptitude is way too much for a program like VT (or what we aspire to be). A change is needed and the fans should not be afraid to voice their opinion.

Some of my friends have encouraged me to start a blog myself. I'm not sure if I have the time to keep up with this thing, but I'll give it a shot depending on how much feedback (positive or negative) it gets.

And let me tell you something else, I encourage everyone to send or fax a resume of your local or favorite offensive coordinator candidate to Frank Beamer personally (or show up on Friday in person to his office), as apparently he thinks this is a joke. What's a joke, is that he may actually believe Bryan Stinespring is actually a good coach. Well, I've got some stats that Frank must have left off his notecards today at the press conference. And apparently, he's never seen USC play football before, because they don't look anything like our Hokies when it comes to running an offense.

Nice work Jason! My friends and I have been echoing your exact comments for years now. Hopefully change arrives soon. Keep up the good work!

Change couldn't come a day too soon! Let's keep this thing going!

Whack! Go Hokies

We are all frustrated but your solution is idiotic. How on earth can you justify sending or handing Beamer resumes of offensive coordinators? Do you realize what Beamer has done for VT football and VT as a whole? National Championships as a goal is not realistic! Take a look at the past 20 natinal champions - not many different names. Your goal as a program is to win your league and that is exactly what FB does. The amazing run of success that Tech has enjoyed over the past 15 years gives FB a long long pass. Stop embarassing yourself with your childish behavior as it is clear you do not know what you are talking about.

Your goal as a program is to win a championship and that goes for any sport. Just because the kids are college students or these men are college coaches doesn't mean they strive for less. Ask the cubs how they will feel if they win the NL and lose the World Series. Ask Bill Buckner how his AL champs ring feels right beside his non-existent World Series ring. Tell Scott Norwood not to worry about missing the FG in the super bowl since they already "won their league". The goal is to win it all. Is that likely in any given year? No, but if you don't have that goal in mind then go coach pop warner. Your theory of being satisfied with ACC championships is what is idiotic. Keep up the good work Jason.

Beamer has finally seen the light and that's what happened when his whole world started crashing down on Monday night. It crashed in because reality can hurt and he has finally been forced to face up to the facts, and the facts are that his offense has been deteriorating the past 5 years. Frank knows it as well and his angry reaction (was very unprofessional and bush-league in my opinion) was a clear indication of his frustration. Bottom line, "Jason from Arlington" didn't lob a softball question like some of the media has done over the years to the all mighty Beamer, he called him out for hiding behind 10 win seasons with a weak schedule and an inept offense.

For all you "Jason from Arlington" haters out there, you are delusional and you have absolutely no understanding of the game, I only wish you could have gotten into the UVA band so that we wouldn’t need to hear your whiny dribble.

We are all fans and we want the best for VT! We all love Frank and what he has done, but the honeymoon is over and there is an obvious problem that has existed for multiple years and it’s time for this issue to be addressed. I don’t care how it’s done, but Hokie Nation will not accept mediocrity and become complacent!!

Keep up the good work JFA

Jonathan, In case you missed it, Frank Beamer put an empty case in the Merriman Center* The empty case is supposed to contain a National Championship trophy. Beamer put this case there. Your post is now deemed completely irrelavent. But your belligerent ignorance is entertaining.

*Merriman Center is the football/basketball center those who don't know much about our program (see Jonathan above)

Jason, keep up the good work. Hokie Nation needs to make our opinions heard.

Jonathan, you are part of the problem. High goals need to be set, and have been as evidenced by the display case in Merriman.

Our defense is good enough to allow us to win our less than stellar conference. It's time for an offense to match so we can compete on a bigger stage.

I'd love it if Stiney tries to shut the critics up with a turn around strategy Saturday. We'll see how the call pans out. Well done Jason.

The more you beat this drum, the more you look like idiots. VT can win a national championship with a ball control offense. Add another graph to your website YARDS PER CARRY:

2003 - 5.351 ypc ; 2004 - 4.341 ypc; 2005- 4.139 ypc; 2006- 3.240 ypc; 2007- 3.341 ypc

If we fix this stat we fix our problem. The OL recruiting from the past two years will begin to pay dividends soon and we will play for a national championship.

Quit polarizing the fan base.

Gawd... Some of you amaze me... Jason, keep up the good work, I love what you did and said. Tech CAN win with a ball control offense and a running scheme, just not with Stiney calling the plays, he is TOO DAMN PREDICTABLE!!! I wish we had a running scheme like Boise State or something to keep a defense on it's heels... We just plain suck. And what about throwing to Boone more than once a game..... Only a moron would not use a TE. We may as well be in the run-and-shoot....

The Defense is NOT going to cover his ass this year by scoring in every game, they are having a down year.

Remember what happened at Fla State, enough people got together and got Jeff Bowden out, why not us??

It is time for a change that is LOOOOOONG OVERDUE!!!!!

Out with Stiney!!!!!!

Jason, you have made this past week very entertaining and that I applaud you. Keep up the good work and hopefully Stinespring will just stick to recruiting and the there wil be a new OC in town come January. GO HOKIES

Good job Jason from Arlington! I appreciate everything Beamer has done for the program, but there's no point in building a program and then not caring if it ever gets any better. Steinspring doesn't even sound smart when he's interviewed. Eddie Royal's success (and the other VT alum rookies who are now starting in the NFL) is proof positive that Steiny sucks. I am a girl and I can predict what plays he's going to call!

Jason, I bet I have posted 3 or 400 times about this very topic over the last 5 years...the problem is so apparent...Beamer thinks he is above the educated fans that have poured countless hours and dollars into the program. Beamer has allowed Stiney to let the offensive firepower of VT diminish...Diminshed in every capacity....there is no offensive capacity or plan or process any longer...and the lack of recruitment into the atrophied offensive program has now shown its ugly face since the athletes are gone (royal, randall, jones, suggs, morgan....) that made the broken play offense squeek by...

Keep up the good work, Jason!

Stiney is a memeber of the Hokie Family, but he needs to concentrate on his strength....recruiting.

Frank can give him a title like asst head coach in charge of recruiting. Cav and Billy H are about to retire, so this could work. If Tech is ever gonna start winning it's BCS bowl games, then the O has gotta get better....

It's been plain vanilla for way too long....

Just my 2 cents......

The important question is, did anyone actually show up for an interview? I'm a high school coach in west Tennessee and if I had heard about this sooner, I would have been there for an interview. How could you pass up that offer? I'd would have only had to know more about football than one man, how hard could that be? I'm not a Hokies fan, but I have noticed the lack of offense and feel for you guys.

On a more rational note… I think as a recruiter and coach, Stinespring does a fine job. As an OC… his record speaks for itself (and it doesn’t say much!). Getting rid of Stinespring is not the answer. Changing his responsibilities to better fit his capabilities and getting a new OC who could take this program (offensively) in a different direction, would seem to be justified.
I think Coach Beamer has put together a more than capable coaching staff to win a national championship; it’s now time to put the right OC in place to bring all of the pieces together.
