With the amount of money surrounding college athletics these days college programs are getting compared to big business in corporate America. Companies that strive to be in the top percentile of their industry make difficult decision each year on what leadership should stay and what leadership needs to be let go. Lets take a look at the numbers. Since Bryan Stinespring took over as offensive coordinator in 2003:

FYI--Stinespring took over in 2002. Those numbers were close to '04 though, so clearly 2003 was the blip on the radar. Thanks Sr. Bryan Randall!!
WOW, nice to see some valid statistics!! Frank likes total points scored, of course those are great when you consider that a lot of those points were defensive and special team results.....its comical that he tried to push those statistics....what a funny guy.
Poor old Frank has had a bad week; hopefully we go out and stick it to Georgia Tech this weekend!!

I absolutely believe every word u said in the question u asked.
In fact I am appalled by the answer given by FB. He has justified our mediocrity. He thinks that winning ACC is good and winning a MNC is out of our reach.
Time and again he has proven that he gives more value to his friendship than looking at the overall betterment of the program. In fact, I now that think that it is his philosophy that offense should not be very offensive and the only way to win a game is good ST and tremendous defense.
Most of the VT fans echo u;r thoughts.

Agree with all of your points - the offense sucks. Although your statistics are valid, your graphs also suck. Paint the picture you're telling - put 2007 all the way on the right, make the offense lines go down and the defense go up (i.e 1 is on top (the best), and 119 is on the bottom (the worst)).

Behind closed doors, Coach Beamer should be enthused about the recent feedback from fans. This means that we are at a point in our program where only winning is acceptable, much like benchmark programs, (USC, LSU etc). While true we have won 10 games over the past few years, our competition for out of conference games is not close to USC. They play teams such as Notre Dame, UVA, Ohio State each and every year. Once every couple of years we will face an actual team worth something to start our season. Is it any wonder we can't consistently beat teams that are ranked come bowl season. Yes, we have been to a bowl 15 years in a row, but we have lost 9 of those.
I am 100% certain that our offense has lost each of those bowl games and is responsible for our ACC championship loss. How many times did we turn the ball over that game, or to UGA, or Kansas? And when we aren't throwing interceptions, we go for an off tackle run on 3rd and 19.
Our talent level on offense is great. The position coaches, for the most part with exception of QB coach, are great. But our our offensive play calling has to improve. It's not fair to 1. Bud Foster 2. the Defensive players 3. our Speacial Teams and 4. our actual offensive lineup to continue allowing our national ranking in offense to decline so that Steinspring can call plays and play golf with Frank during the off-season at Blacksburg Country Club.
If you are indeed serious, take things a step further and email weaverj@vt.edu. Maybe Jim Weaver can actually do something to help our program besides over enforcing security, scheduling horrible opponents at 12 o'clock kick-offs, and coming up with things such as "Hokies Respect". How about he respect my $1,000 annual contribution just to get the chance for season tickets only to watch a sucky offense?
You are supposed to have the time on the x-axis go from 0-infinity or in this case 2003 to 2007 not 2007 to 2003. That is why is looks so confusing to you VPI simpletons. Oh and UNC is gonna whip that ass.
